One of the Ten Titles about Buddha -- Buddha

Author: Tao Qing Hsu

In the Buddhist Scripture--The Scripture of the Ten Titles Said by Buddha, the Buddha explained what the Buddha meant:

Why was it called Buddha? Its wisdom possesses the adequately three enlightenments and the consummate and the brightness. It was hence named Buddha.

The Buddha told Ananda. I had done the practicing of regularly-walking in the past. A Brahmin came and asked me. Why did your parents name you Buddha? The Buddha immediately answered. That what the world understands and knows can be understood and known by me. That what the world perceives can also be perceived by me. That what the world can eliminate can also be eliminated by me. I have all wisdom and all understanding. I have experienced my lives since the countless kalpas. All kinds of practice are far away from dust and dirt. Now I have achieved the supreme Bodhi. Therefore, the name of Buddha was established.

The Character Buddha is Sanskrit. Its definition and origin are as said above. The pronounce “Fo” is transliterated from Chinese and the pronounce “Fu” is the local language in Taiwan. The pronounce “Fo” and “Fu” also mean the Buddha and are more generally used in the communities of China and Taiwan. The Buddha Amitabha is usually known by the masses in China and Taiwan. The Pure Land of Amitabha is a place that everyone longs to go to.

In my opinion and as I know, the heavens in some sort of religions are included in the Pure Land of Amitabha. That is because, in the profound and wide meanings, the Pure Land of Amitabha includes all universes, and the visible and invisible materials. In the meantime, it also includes the invisible-non-materials. The Pure Land of Eternal-Silence-Light is the ultimate Pure Land of Amitabha.

In the concept of Buddhism, the earth where we live now is one of the Pure Lands of Amitabha, meanwhile, it is also a Pure Land of Amitabha where mortals and saints live together. The saints include all sorts of virtuous humans in all religions.

In the heart of Amitabha, all humankinds are transformed and generated from the heart of Amitabha. That is, all human beings are like “the children of the Amitabha”. No matter if these children are good or bad, and no matter how many lives and what sorts of lives they had experienced, and no matter what they had believed, they finally will return to and rely on Amitabha, and dwell on the Pure Land of Amitabha.

The pronounce "A Mi Tuo Fo" / “ Ēmítuófó “ / is transilitrated from Chinese and means Amitabha. The pronounce "A Mi Tuo Fo" / “ Ēmítuófó “ / is generally used in the communities of China and Taiwan.

The Prayer of Pure Land

Author: Tao Qing Hsu

All Buddha’s virtue and love
Are given on pure land,
Widely and universally.

With kindness and sympathy,
Buddhas assimilate all sentient beings,
Teach them to awaken
and to get into the Buddha's knowledge and into understanding of Buddha.
That is, the pure heart itself is the pure land of Buddha.

I wish that all sentient beings would know the pure land of Buddha,
And would dwell on bliss of the light of constant silence.
No coming, no going, and no arising are the pure land of bliss.
The pure heart itself is all pure land.

I wish to attain the Bodhi in heart,
To save all sentient beings
by the heart of sympathy and wisdom,
to attain all great pure land,
And to repay all Buddha’s virtue and love.

The Scripture of The Supreme-Wisdom Heart

The Scripture of The Supreme-Wisdom Heart

Translator in the time of Sui and Tang Dynasties, China (AD.602-664): Xuanzang (Who translated the said Scripture from Sanskrit into Chinese.)
Translator in the modern time (A.D.2018): Tao Qing Hsu (Who translated the said Scripture from Chinese into English.)

When Pusa Self-ease-perceiving is deeply practicing the supreme wisdom,
It reflects and views its Five Aggregates are all empty, and is thus free from all suffering.

Shelizi!
The material world is no difference from the emptiness.
The emptiness is no difference from the material world.
The material world itself is the emptiness.
The Emptiness itself is the material world.
So feeling, the cognition, the action, and the consciousness are the same as above mentioned.

Shelizi!
All law is the phenomenon of emptiness,
Which is neither arising nor eliminating, neither defiling nor purifying, and neither increasing nor decreasing.
There is thus no material world in the emptiness, so as well as no feeling, cognition, action, and consciousness;
No eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind;
No form, sound, smell, taste, sensation, and law;

No realm of eyes, and even until no realm of consciousness;
No ignorance, and no end of ignorance, and even until no aging and death, and no end of aging and death;
No suffering, aggregating, eliminating, and Tao;
No wisdom and attainment.

Due to nothing to be attained, Buddhisattva is thus according to the supreme wisdom, there is no hindrance in heart. Due to no hindrance, there is no fear. It departs from the reversed dream. So the Nirvana is exactly attained.

Buddha of Three Life Time has attained the supreme-equality enlightenment by the supreme wisdom.

Therefore, the supreme wisdom is known as the great-spiritual charm, the great-bright charm, the supreme charm, and equal charm of no-grade, which can be used to eliminate all suffering. It is genuine and not false. That is why the charm of supreme wisdom is said, and is recited as:

Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate
